Sportsman Kulatunga passes away

Sportsman J. W. Kulatunga former State Services 'A' division soccerite and TT player passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday.

Kulatunga represented Government Press in State Services Soccer for nearly a decade and led the team once. He was a member of the team that won the 'A' division championship.

As a top class table tennis player he helped Govt Press to win the State Services 'A' Division tittle. With this success he was selected to represent the State Services team that toured India in 1978.

Before joining State Service he represented the Dematagoda Community Centre's basketball and later gave up the game to concentrate on other sports. He also became a top class slicer winning many titles at inter-department level.

At the time of his death he was Grade I Foreman at Govt. Press.

He leaves his wife and two children.
