Lanka poised for strong economic growth

Sri Lanka continued to enjoy strong economic growth during the first quarter and should achieve growth in excess of 5% for the year, with inflation below 6.5%, the Asian Development Bank said yesterday.

US provides demining training to Army

The US Government signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday that provides demining training to the Sri Lankan Army.The MOU was signed by Austin Fernando, Secretary, Ministry of Defence. James F. Entwistle, Charge d'Affaires at the United States Embassy, represented the US Government.
