The Government of Sweden has provided a grant of SEK 95mn (approximately Rs. 1.1bn) for the development of research capacity of the Universities in Sri Lanka under the Swedish Assisted Research Cooperation (SAREC) Project, states a Ministry of Finance press release. SIDA has selected 12 projects from the Universities of Colombo, Sri Jayawardenepura, Peradeniya, Kelaniya, Jaffna and Ruhuna and one from the National Science Foundation for the next phase of the SAREC Project. The projects have been selected through a competitive process based on scientific merit, the release adds. |
