Skipper Naveed Nawaz hit a face saving 92 to help Sri Lanka 'A' draw the first 4-day unofficial Test against India 'A' at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Sri Lank 'A' trailing on the first innings by 125 runs, were all out for 308 in their second innings with Nawaz holding up the innings with a solid knock of 92 which took him 314 minutes and 226 balls. He had seven fours and a six in his knock. But after his dismissal at 238, Sri Lanka 'A's innings were saved by a defiant innings of 41 in 196 minutes by Anuska Polonowita. He hit three fours and a six.

India 'A' were left with a victory target of 184 for victory, but had to abandoned their run chase when fast bowlers Lasith Malinga and Tharanga Lakshitha reduced them to 47-4. They eventually finished on 103-5 with Mohammad Kaif scoring an undefeated half-century.
