Galle district overall champs

An inter-district sports meet of the Southern Province was held recently at Uyanwatte grounds, Matara organised by the Sports Ministry of Southern Province. Galle district emerged overall champions with 663 points while Matara district was the first runner-up with 275 points and Hambantota district was the second runner-up with 198 points.

V. G. Nuwan Taranga of Hambantota district bettered his own record in the men's 110 metres hurdles and M. G. Lalana Shanthi of the same district bettered her own record in the women's 200 metres (25.04).
