Riders Day Grand Prix on November 29 and 30 The Riders Day Grand Prix 2003 organised and conducted by the Sri Lanka Racing Riders Association in collaboration with the Negombo Motor Sports Club will be held on November 29 and 30 at the International Racing Circuit in Pannala. All national riders together with some of the top Asian riders will be participating in this event which is the first meet for motorcycles only. There will be a total of 19 different events including one for ladies and two for children. The special event which is certain to attract the riders and the spectators alike will be the grant prix style event of 25 laps. During the meet on Sunday, Gunasiri Attanayake the latest to enter the Guiness Book of records for riding with his hands tied behind his back for the longest period of time will show his prowess at the meet. Proposed events - Motorcycles: Novices standard modified up to 125 cc, standard modified M/C up to 100 cc, standard modified M/C up to 125 cc, Standard modified M/C up to 250 cc, super moto up to 85 cc, super moto up to 125 cc, super moto up to 250 cc, racing motor cycles up to 125, racing motor cycles up to 250 cc, scooters for ladies up to 60 cc, kids event up to 50 cc (below 9 years), kids event up to 80 cc clutch and gear (below 13 years), standard modified four stroke up to 125 cc (single cylinder), standard modified four stroke up to 250 cc, standard modified four stroke up to 400 cc, standard modified four stroke up to 600 cc, standard modified open - Grand Prix, street trail 2/stroke and 4/stroke up to 250 cc, racing motor cycles open - Grand Prix. |
