Local company develops new tool to manage web sites by Sudarshana Perera In a major development in outsourcing and web development industry ,I.C.A Holdings (Pvt) Ltd has developed a web-based tool to manage the web sites from one's desktop, without knowing anything about complex jargon. This new software to be launched shortly will enable to achieve optimum results without having high-tech web competencies. The new tool could also be obtained at a fraction of cost. This tool is a content managing Web-application with inbuilt customer relations module and an e mail manager. I.C.A Holdings (Pvt) Ltd has been incubated at ConceptNursery.com an organisation to help nurture the software development in Sri Lanka. According to Charles Morais of ConceptNursery.com, the new development showcases the difference between a static non interactive website and an interactive web site that achieves organisations internet objectives with a competitive advantage. We will promote this new tool for non governmental organisations, political parties, exporters and ICT companies Morais said. "Internet, the fundamental element of ICT, is the most contemporary communication medium and it will lead the way in shaping our future for a very long time to come. Organisations and governments around the world today are focusing on how best to exploit this medium as a tool for growth and development. They are heavily investing their time and money to become "e" compliant as the world is fast changing from a hard format to an electronic format, which travels at the speed of light" said Mohamed Azmeer of ConceptNursery.com. Some people have hyped the internet to death, while others go out of their way to dismiss it as nothing more than a rather large computer network. But worldwide web (the Web), is changing the way businesses communicate with their customers, potential customers, staff and investors. The Web is not a passing business fad. Before long, any business that isn't an e-business won't be in business", Azmeer said. Commenting on the present day interactions with web-sites he said that the vast majority of websites don't make the most of the Web's potential for interactivity and one-to-one dialogue with consumers. He called upon the business organizations to ponder on the objectives of e-business operations and ways to improve and deploy Internet technologies. "Successful e-business is not just about having a website. "It is about deploying Internet technology to have a positive effect on all aspects of a business "he said. In its infancy stage, the Web was a techies' playground used by IT specialists and academics to swap ideas and opinions in their own private virtual world. As big business muscled in on the Web it was, predictably, the IT companies that best understood the technology first to put it to work for them. In recent years, a complete support industry has built-up around the Web, and it's growing. Web designers were first on the scene, demystifying the complexities of html-programming to give companies a professional presence online. |
