Trincomalee correspondent LTTE Political Leader, Thamilchelvam has had discussions with Government and Provincial Council officials in the North-East Province including Government Agents, Secretaries of Provincial Ministries and representatives of non-government organisations, private sector organisations and community based organisations at the newly opened Development and Planning Secretariat in Kilinochchi. The discussions were centered mainly on peace and development. Thamilchelvam sought the views of those who participated at the discussions. There should be no contradictions between the officials serving in the North-East Province and the LTTE, he stressed. LTTE political leader insisted that discussions will make matters smooth and would help to achieve the desired goal. He said that with the assistance of stake holders, rehabilitation and development plans for NEP had to be prepared for the benefit of all three communities living in the North-East Province. In his opinion, all regional plans must reflect the ground situation and should give remedy to those affected and people ignored by the previous development strategies.
