Those responsible for corruption will be brought to book - Minister D.M. Jayaratne

by Sanjaya Asela Maturata and L. S. Egodavita

The United People's Free Alliance which is certain to form the next Government will bring to book the Ministers who have committed fraud and corruption involving billions of rupees, as the first item of its agenda, observed the newly appointed Post and Telecommunications Minister D. M. Jayaratne, participating in a series of meetings organized by SLFP Yatinuwara Chief Organiser Tikiri Kobbekaduwa in the areas of Kadugannawa, Pilimatalawa, Kiribathkumbura and Peradeniya to welcome him as a Minister, yesterday.

The blueprints have already been drawn to achieve this purpose and as a prelude even by now, some of the Government officials connected with such activities have been brought before Court, he said.

The UNF Government during the period of their rule did nothing else other than ruining the country fostered by our forefathers throughout 25 centuries. They strengthened the hands of the LTTE in the North and the East and made room for foreigners to buy our motherland and its national resources for a song, he stated further.
