A historical analysis :
Class domination of education in society

The stratification of society into classes such as upper, middle and
lower or working, played a vital role in the provision of education. In
societies, both in space and time, whether in the mother country or the
colony in the early days, or whether developed or developing in modern
times, education, specially high quality education was given only to the
well to do in society.
