Lankan U-15 cricketers win series 3-0 Malaysia's first state-of-the-art Cricket Academy and the Oval Grounds was ceremonially opened with Under 15 Sri Lankans being victorious against their Malaysian counterparts, winning, the series for 3-0 on Saturday in Kuala Lumpur. The visiting Sri Lanka's Under-15 team exhibited the true Sri Lankan mastership on Cricket when they won the last of the series by 37 runs at the new Oval Grounds. Tuanku Ja'afar Malay Cricket Academy and the Bayuemas Oval was opened in Klang by Malaysia's Sports Minister Datuk Hishammaddin Hussein, Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Malaysia Rosy Senanayake and Malaysian Cricket Association President Tunku Imran Tuanku Ja'afar. The Oval is scheduled to host a series of one day internationals between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in May. The final match of the series between Sri Lanka and Malaysia (under 15) was held at the new stadium after the opening to mark the occasion. Sri Lanka won the first two matches by 71 and 96 respectively while captain of the Sri Lankan team Sachithra Pathirana being awarded as the man of the series award. At the final encounter Sri Lanka scored 117 with Sachithra Pathirana's 39 and Uditha Liyanage's 25. Malaysian's could only score 80 in 35.5 overs. |
