Confifi Group Hotels takes ayurveda to Germany

The Confifi Group Hotels, established its first Ayurveda facility overseas in November. The Ayurveda Villas and Spa at Confifi Group Hotels, Eden, Riverina and Confifi Beach employ doctors and assistants trained in the field of Ayurveda.

They follow the ancient philosophy that Ayurveda is more than just a health and wellness system but a science of life. Ayurveda is made up of two Sanskrit words, 'Ayu' which means life and 'Veda' which means the knowledge of life. According to Confifi's Ayurveda professionals, it helps maintain health in a person.

The Ayurveda facility set up at luxury resort Die Wutzschleife in Germany, was established to teach this philosophy and provide traditional therapy of Ayurveda including herbs, nutrition, panchakarma cleansing and massage to the German tourist market. The facility which serves as a centre to educate visitors on the merits of Ayurveda also provides follow up treatment to those who have already experienced this age old wellness therapy at the Ayurveda Villas at any of the Confifi Group hotels in Sri Lanka.

Commenting on this international expansion by Confifi Group Hotels, General Manager - Sales Anil Udawatte said, "This association with Die Wutzchleife opens several opportunities for both parties. We will mutually benefit from the exchange of employees as well as promote the respective hotels and their activities in Germany and Sri Lanka. The Confifi Group has already assigned Wutzchleife with six therapists trained in special ayurvedic treatment to work with Dr. Bandara, head of the Ayurveda facility."

Smell and taste are two important senses that aid in the digestive process. Keeping that in mind, a trained Ayurveda chef from Confifi has already been sent to Wutzchleife to train their staff on Ayurvedic cooking and setting detailed menus that incorporate the value of natural ingredients.
