Sri Lanka's first construction portal to promote industry Cyber Concepts (Pvt) Ltd launched its second portal recently targetting the construction market segment. Edwellings.com provides information to a prospective builder who plans to build his own house or a commercial building. It also contains a complete directory that promotes products and services related to the construction industry. This new e-initiative is in line with Cyber Concepts strategy of making internet a useful medium for consumers to plan their important events and also make the worldwide web a cost effective marketing tool for Sri Lankan companies to market their products and services to national and international markets. "We have to face facts: ecommerce is the current trend, and the world is moving towards that. Sri Lanka is no exception. Consumers need faster access to the products they want to purchase and complete a transaction with minimum hassle. The answer is the worldwide web. Therefore it is essential that products are provided the maximum exposure to the prospective consumers through the web. Otherwise their growth will be limited only to a specific geographic region," Ravi Rajapathirana, joint MD of Cyber Concepts told the Daily News.
