International Tourism Burse in Berlin next week : Lanka to present grand show Sri Lanka Tourist Board (SLTB) will be participating at the annual International Tourism Burse (ITB) 2004, scheduled from March 12 to 16 in Messe, Berlin. SLTB will participate together with Sri Lankan Airlines and members of Sri Lanka Tourism industry. ITB is the biggest and best Travel show opportunity for Sri Lanka in the travel tourism business where buyers and sellers from all over the world meet. Over 120 tourism industry members including 50 travel agents and hoteliers will be representing Sri Lanka. The theme for this year will be 'Sri Lanka beyond beaches: Nature, Culture, Adventure'. To highlight the theme, the Sri Lankan stand will display a grand replica of Lion's paws at Sigiriya entrance. The stand will have a floor area of 380 sq.mts. located at pavilion 260 consisting of 15 stalls and 30 places in the Common Area. Each stall will have a storage space, a table, four chairs and space to display material. The Common Area will have clusters of tables and chairs. Each cluster will have reserved spaces for four co-exhibitors. Each co-exhibitor will have a small table, three chairs, storage space and their own space to display material. Other visitor categories attending the fair will be leading Tour Operators, Retail Travel Agents, Business Travel Agents, Group Travel Organisers, Incentive Travel Organisers, Exhibitions and Conference Organisers and air/ground/rail/shipping/transport Organisers. Overall products and services displayed will include National/Regional Tourist Organisations, Consultancy Firms, Tour Operators, Hotels, Airlines, Car Rental Companies, Railways, Ferry Companies, Cruise Lines, Coach Operators, Tourist Attractions, Technology and Telecommunications Reservations Systems and other Travel related services. SLTB with SriLankan Airlines and the industry members will hold a cocktail called 'Sri Lanka Night' on March 13, at Maritim Hotel, Berlin from 7.00 p.m. onwards. A cultural troupe comprising 12 members of Chamila-Upali Performing Arts Foundation will perform at the pavilion and at the Sri Lankan Night. |
