Stuart MacGill on 'Melodies and Memories' Stuart MacGill who is the second leg-spinner in the Australian squad now in Sri Lanka will be featured on 'Melodies and Memories' tomorrow on the Commercial Service of the SLBC. This program which has listeners craving for more of the old time favourites will be broadcast from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m. instead of the usual time of 8.00 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. on Saturdays. MacGill in addition to his excellence with ball is also an ardent music fan. He comes out with his favourites in music and talks of the love that his family has for music. Incidentally MacGill will have his parents here who will be keen spectators at the three Tests with the first one beginning on Monday in Galle. 'Melodies and Memories' which has been given an extended time because of its gaining in popularity every week is presented by Nihal Bharethi with Bertram Jayasuriya and Harold Jansz providing the wonderful old time favourites. On this program MacGill also reveals that his favourite sport as a youngster was field hockey. He was very efficient at that, but finally switched to playing cricket and he is happy that he did so. MacGill also talks about the Indian series which he says was fantastic. He praises the Indians for their approach and talks in glowing terms of the great batting of V.V.S. Laxman and Rahul Dravid.
