Three attacked over posters in Bandaragama

Three youths billing election posters were seriously injured when they were attacked by eight persons armed with clubs, police said.

The youth were attacked while billing Bodu Samuluwa election propaganda posters in Bandaragama police area in Thursday night.

K. Gayan, W. Anura Fonseka and Charake Dharsana were admitted to the Panadura Base Hospital while Nishantha Sanjeewa was despatched to the Colombo National Hospital accident ward.

Two suspects produced before Horana Magistrate P. W. Pushpamali were remanded until March 23. Pending an identification parade.

Another six suspects are absconding.

Bandaragama police is investigating.
