Karateka Duminda gives Lanka first gold

Karateka Duminda Ruwan Kalyananewage fighting in the 80kg category of the ongoing 9th SAF Games in Islamabad won the first gold medal for Sri Lanka at the Army Gymnasium yesterday. Kalyanahewage defeated 'Hot country' Thalib in a tense battle. Pubudu Saminda became the second medallist in the same discipline when he won a bronze medal fighting in the 65kg category.
