Tajudeen- Vice President of SLABCA

T. N. Tajudeen, Warrant Officer of the Sri Lanka Air Force BC was elected as Vice President of the Sri Lanka Amateur Boxing Coaches Association, at the AGM held at the Central YMCA Colombo recently for the year 2004.

'TAJU' who is in-charge of the sports division at the SLAF Headquarters specialised in boxing where he excelled as National Champion in the Light Flyweight class in the year 1982 and was also the winner in the defence services in the same weight in 1981.

He is a long-standing boxer in the Air Force team for nearly 15 years. He toured New Delhi with the Sri Lanka Boxing Team as assistant. Boxing coach in the year 2000 and accompanied the Sri Lanka Women's Boxing team to New Delhi last month participating in the Referees Examination held in New Delhi.

He is the son of the famous boxer of yesteryear, the late M. Thajudeen of Zahira College, Colombo.
