CA between Lanka and Vietnam to promote tourism Sri Lanka and Vietnam concluded a Cooperation Agreement (CA) in the field of Tourism on June 11 in Hue, Vietnam. Anura Bandaranaike, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment Promotion and Madam Vo Thi Thang, Chairperson of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism signed the Agreement. Under the Agreement, Sri Lanka and Vietnam have agreed to encourage and facilitate individual or group travel by their citizens and citizens of third countries to Vietnam and Sri Lanka. Further, both countries have agreed to create favourable conditions for each other's travel agents to further develop the tourism relations in their respective countries. The Agreement allows both countries to exchange of expertise in matters relating to the organisation, management and business operation of tourism in their respective countries and grant technical assistance. Vu Khoan, Vice Prime Minister of Vietnam, Dr. U. Vidanapathirana, Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Investment Promotion of Sri Lanka were among the present at this ceremony. Minister Bandaranaike also attended the World Tourism Organisation Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Cultural Tourism and Poverty Alleviation held from June 11 to 12 in Hue, Vietnam. |
