UPFA will win power at CPC election - MP

Ginigathena special correspondent

Although the UNP attempts to get the ruling power of the Central Provincial Council again, it will be the UPFA that comes into power at the forthcoming CPC election said the Kandy District UPFA MP Navaratne Banda. He was addressing an election rally held at the Ginigathena public bus stand in the Maskeliya electorate recently.

The rally was held in support of the UPFA candidates contesting the forthcoming CPC election representing the Nuwara Eliya district.

Navaratne Banda said that a very large sum of the CPC funds was misappropriated during the ruling period of the former CPC. I would like to mention that if a group of JVP members were elected to the CPC such misappropriation of CPC funds could have been avoided.

Then we will be able to render a better service for the people of the Central Province than earlier. That is why we should elect a group of JVP members to the CPC.

Likewise I would like to say that the present UPFA government has already rendered a greater service for the people of this country during the very short period of two months, he said.

Nuwara Eliya District UPFA MP Nimal Premawansa Jayasinghe also spoke.
