Commercial Bank ties up with 'Xpress Money' for instant money transfers

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has tied up with 'Xpress Money' - one of the leading companies in the remittance business, to provide SL expatriates facilities to transfer funds to Sri Lanka instantly.

With this arrangement, remitters in any part of the world would be able to gain access to Commercial Bank's 121 strong on-line network of branches and 176 ATMs. Commenting on the appointment of Xpress Money, Commercial Bank's Assistant General Manager - Operations Sanath Bandaranayake said Xpress Money's expertise in crunching the payment cycle through the use of state-of-the-art money transfer technology in a simple and cost effective way was a key reason for the tie up. The expatriate Sri Lankan community will now have a new network of over 400 locations worldwide from which to transfer their funds instantly.

Explaining how the Xpress Money system works, Bandaranayake said the sender has only to visit the nearest 'Xpress Money' agent, give the name and ID details of the beneficiary and pay cash. The money will reach Commercial Bank instantly enabling the beneficiary to receive cash instantly, he said.

Recipients of these remittances have the opportunity of obtaining their money by producing the Reference number and suitable identification even on holidays at the Commercial Bank's Holiday Banking Centre at Colombo 7, at any of its Minicom Centres at selected Cargills Food City outlets or at Customer Service Points at Arpico Supercentres at Hyde Park Corner, Dehiwala and Battaramulla.

Accountholders as well as non account holders of Commercial Bank may avail themselves of this efficient and secure system of money transferring and enjoy easy and hassle free accessibility to funds as the bank has Sri Lanka's largest branch and ATM network.

Xpress Money is a service by the Xpress Money Services Ltd., a London based company and is also a member of the UAE Exchange Centre LLC, a member of the LLC Group of companies.

In addition to Xpress Money, Thomas Cook Al Rostamani, City International Exchange, The UAE Exchange, Al Ansari Exchange, National Exchange, Dollarco Exchange, Al Razouki International Exchange and Trico Trajex are agents of Commercial Bank for handling instant money transfers.
