Seminar to enhance port security

An International Ship and Port Facility Security Seminar & Workshop will be conducted at the Mahapola Training Institute of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

This programme scheduled from July 19 to 23 was initiated by the Merchant Shipping Division of the Ministry of Ports and Aviation because port users and the local shipping industry need to be instructed in the enhancement of ship and port facility security.

The IMO is providing three consultants, one from the U.K., one from Singapore, and one from Australia to conduct this programme. It is expected that more than eighty persons from shipping and related organizations will participate.
