Christians are fully convinced that the UPFA will generate the rights of religious minorities. We are pledged to follow a policy of religious co-existence and brotherhood in Sri Lanka under UPFA rule, said Parliamentary and Christian Affairs Minister Milroy Fernando addressing a meeting held at Wennappuwa. At the last PC polls people have given a clear mandate to the UPFA in evolving a negotiated solution to the ethnic problem. People have voted for peace, unity, development, alleviation of poverty and economic stability in the country. PC polls endorsed democratic rule and living in our land. People have rejected the corrupt vested interests. A broad spectrum analysis of the PC poll result clearly elucidates the aspirations of the farming and working classes in this country. The meeting was held to draw up priorities of development projects in the Puttalam district. At the discussions more emphasis was given to the revamping of paddy cultivation.
