Heavy foreign buying

Trading at the Colombo Bourse continued its bullish trend yesterday with all indices recording gains. The All Share Price Index increased to 1,418.35 points from 1,409.82 points on Wednesday. The Milanka Price Index jumped to 2,120.98 points 2,115.83 points. The turnover for the day was Rs 193,804,599.

Stock Brokers said that there was heavy foreign buying on Distilleries and Caltex and market was mostly dominated by the retail segment.

The impending results of the quarterly performance of the corporate sector is also expected to have a positive impact on the market.

Domestic Purchases were Rs 296,791,275 and foreign purchase Rs 22,707,000.
