Jobs in Ghana for Lankans

Ghana yesterday agreed to provide a large number of jobs for Sri Lankans.

This was one of the main topics discussed at a meeting between Trade, Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle and Ghana's Trade and Industry Minister Alen Kyerematen at the Parliamentary Complex yesterday.

Kyerematen told Fernandopulle that he would explore the possibility of granting an annual job quota for Lankans. The Ghanian minister also assured that all facilities would be provided to Lankan garment manufacturers wishing to invest in Ghana.

He has agreed to provide duty free concessions and infrastructure facilities to such investors, the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Consumer Affairs said.

The two ministers discussed a gamut of other issues related to bilateral trade and economic ties.
