Fully equipped broadcasting complex for Kandy

Finance Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama has pledged to set up a fully equipped Broadcasting Complex in Kandy. The project will be financed with foreign funds, which the Minister intends to solicit shortly.

Chairman of SLBC, Hudson Samarasinghe told the employees of Kandurata Sevaya of the SLBC that the Minister was fulfilling a pledge given, before the last general election.

Speaking further Samarasinghe said that when he left SLBC last, he left a profit of Rs. 125 million but on resumption of duties again he had to borrow Rs. 20 million from the Bank to pay salaries. He also requested the employees of the Kandurata service to be honest and dedicated to the service.

The Head of Kandurata FM Service Cysil Jinadasa, Engineer Kithsiri Ekanayake, Udaya Ranasinghe and the Business Manager K. G. Karunatilaka also spoke.
