Ratnasiri proposed as UPFA leader

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party at its Central Executive Committee meeting at President's House, Colombo with President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga in the Chair yesterday, took the following decisions, the Party's General Secretary Maithripala Sirisena said in a release yesterday.

The decisions are to propose to the Executive Council of the United People's Freedom Alliance to appoint Sri Lanka Freedom Party Senior Vice President Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake as the Leader of the United People's Freedom Alliance; and hold the Sri Lanka Freedom Party 53rd Annual Convention in Galle on September 4.
