A long wait for the UNP

Tourism, Industry and Investment Promotion Minister Anura Bandaranaike said the elements aspiring to topple the Government will have a long wait since the Government can secure a majority in Parliament before the vote on budget in November.

He told the weekly Cabinet press briefing that the Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) has openly expressed their support to pass the first budget of the UPFA. Bandaranaike said they have seen progress with the CWC.

"We have already got together at provincial level with two posts in the Sabaragamuwa and Central PCs being offered to them," the Minister said.

"The UNP is still living in the hope that it can topple the Government but that is not going to happen," he said.
