Double ton Mahela puts Lanka in box seat

A magnificent double century from vice-captain Mahela Jayawardene put Sri Lanka firmly in the box seat in the first cricket Test against South Africa at the Galle International Stadium here today. The 27-year-old right-hander kept the South Africans on the field for the best part of five sessions to score a monumental 237 runs and help Sri Lanka to a first innings total of 486.
