Skywards, the frequent flyer program from Emirates and SriLankan, has launched an on-line reward booking facility on the heels of receiving the 'Best Redemption Award for an International Airline' at this year's Freddie Awards.

The new initiative allows its members to exchange their Miles for free flights to hundreds of destinations from the comfort of their homes, offices or even while on the go.

Skywards has cranked up to encourage members to sample the new service. Twenty-five members, selected randomly from the pool of those booking rewards online until September 15, will have the Miles used to claim their reward re-credited to their account. Effectively, this will present them with an opportunity for yet another free flight.

The new online service offers the flexibility of checking reward flight availability anytime through a real-time booking engine plus efficient and faster ticketing, ensuring customers enjoy their rewards in a seamless fashion.

Introduced in 1988, the Freddies are considered the most valued of consumer generated award program in the industry. Created by InsideFlyer magazine's publisher Randy Petersen, the Freddies give travellers the opportunity to rank airline and hotel frequent traveller programs from their point of view.

Skywards, has done itself proud at the Freddie's over the last few years, attributed primarily to its member centric approach.

This year, in addition to its top Freddie Award for Best Redemption, Skywards was also in the top three considerations for the Best Elite Level Award and the Program of the Year Award.
