Ornamental ponds with different characters at Elephant corridor
A team of gardeners from the area, directed by Consultants, Environmental Executive Suranga Wewegedera and garden supervisor Mangala Attapattu have zeroed in on the aspects of watergardening at the hotel "Elephant Corridor". Unlike the creator of Sigiriya, they have not made fountains and moats, instead they have concentrated on giving special and individual character to the twenty four ornamental ponds the hotel has in its two hundred acre ground, to cater to its twenty one suites. The one of a kind hotel, bordered by four fairly large ancient tanks has five water holes within its premises, which have their own particular character and ecosystem as well.
Nature and luxury find harmony where suites are four times the size of an average five star room and have private plunge pools, terrace and garden in everyone of them.
All four varieties of wild cats of Sri Lanka, the leopard, the fishing cat, the jungle cat and the rusty spotted cat use and move across the premises and in some cases feel comfortable enough to breed within them. |
