China Jingsu Expo 2004 : 

Encouraging response from local businessmen

The response for the China Jingsu Expo 2004 on the first day itself had been very encouraging and the organisers were unable to close the doors at the scheduled closing time as it was full of visitors according to the event co-ordinator Deepthi Randeniya of York Convention. The main objective of this event is to find local agents for Chinese products and a number of local businessmen were interested in electrical, fabric, home appliances and other equipment. Samples booked by them were sold on Saturday, Randeniya said.

The exhibition held for the first time in Sri Lanka to develop bilateral business avenues displayed 46 stalls consisting of fabrics, garment accessories, electrical appliances, shoes, electrical bicycles, chemicals, porcelain and hotel equipment.

Chituma Electric Bicycle displayed a number of attractive bicycles from one of the 10 largest factories in this field in China.

Some of these bicycles could run 50km distance with full charge. The battery charging period ranges from 3-8 hours. They are looking for local agents who would purchase a minimum of one container load of bicycles monthly with 126 bicycles to start with. The products are sold in America, Germany Australia and Japan too.

Chanzhou Foreign Trade Corporation represented by the Tradesman SL (Pvt) Ltd displayed hardware and electrical goods, Triangle tyres, bulbs and other household equipment. Since 1993 Tradesman is the Lankan agent for Chanzhou electrical items. They are looking for more agents in the country. Chanzhou displayed a range of hydraulic floor jacks, Jack stands and Power Jacks.

Hi-Tech Tool Manufacturing Company specialised in manufacturing various diamond blades provides customers with the superior quality diamond blades. These blades are used to cut various type of granites and tiles very neatly and methodically, according to the stall holders.

High Hope International Group displayed a variety of dolls, towels and ornaments at their stall.
