Sarathchandrasiri Vithanage, Assistant Secretary to the President, said President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga prior to leaving the Island for UK had directed him to take steps to distribute flour among the affected families. Accordingly, he had taken steps to distribute flour in three districts. Anuradhapura district will receive 600 metric tons of flour, Polonnaruwa 700 metric tons and Puttalam district 450 metric tons. |
