The special orientation program for 17,000 graduates newly entering the public service will be launched on September 2 on a district basis. This program is organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, National Institute of Education and the National Youth Services Council and the District Secretaries. The training program will consist of modules such as English, IT, public relations and communication skills, rules and procedures of public service new economic policy, the constitution of Sri Lanka, propagation of human values and spiritual development, personality development, guidance and counselling, Field Visits and Music, the Education Ministry said in a press release yesterday. The resource personnel selected for this program are from the National Institute of Education, National Youth Services Council and senior public servants. The training will take place at 215 centres in 25 districts. The Ministry of Finance will bear the total cost of the training and a special unit of the Ministry of Education will co-ordinate and monitor the program during a three-month period. The Ministry of Education will have a media conference in relation to this program on August 31 at 10.30 am at the Ministry auditorium. |
