Indices, turnover up at Bourse

Indices and the turnover at the Colombo Stock Exchange increased yesterday. The ASPI was up to 1,383.96 point from previous 1,371.10 and Milanka to 2,077.78 point from 2,046.93.

The turnover for the day was Rs. 261,396,076. Domestic purchases were Rs. 2.5 billion and foreign purchases were Rs. 8.8 million.

Lanka Hospitals and Ceylinco Seylan were heavily traded stocks.

The top five gainers were ACL Plastics, Dimo, Marawila Resorts, LMF and Blue Diamond.

The Ceylon Guardian and Ceylon Investment announced bonus issues in proportion of one for three and one for two respectively.

Blue Diamond announced a right issue for both voting and non-voting shares.
