Talking point

At a district level meeting of the UNP held a few days ago, a former Parliamentarian, a big time businessman drew the wrath of the leadership for bluntly pointing out the mistakes committed by the two-year UNP regime.

He has said that the party was suffering today because the UNP government failed to deliver the goods to the people.

The UNP leader allegedly blithely replied that all the ex-MP had to do was to leave the party. Pat came the reply from the ex-MP, a leading businessman, "why don't you resign?".
