Indices close on volatile note

Indices at the Colombo Bourse closed on a volatile note. The All Share Price Index dipped to 1,375.17 points from 1,384.00 on Friday. The Milanka Price Index decreased to 2,059.88 from 2,077.80.Turnover for the day was Rs 47,846,140.

Ceylinco Seylan, Ashot Properties and Com Land were heavily traded stocks. Domestic purchases were Rs 1,374 million and foreign purchases Rs. 75 million. Asso Hotels, Touchwood, Singer Ind, Bogala Graphite and Bukit Darah were heavily traded stocks.

Hotel Sigiriya and Chemanex announced 1 for 2 and 1 for 5 rights issues.
