China donates furniture to BCIS

Sun Guoxlang, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China has allocated 300,000 RBM Yuan (Rs. 3,436,426.12) from the Ambassador's Fund for the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) to purchase office equipment at local markets for the new two storied building which was also donated by the Government of the People's Republic of China early last year states a press release from BCIS.

The donation will cover all required lecture theatre chairs, auditorium chairs, office tables, computer tables, filing cupboards, cabinets.

A ceremony to mark the donation will be held on September 14, 6 p.m. at Committee Room 'C', BMICH in the presence of the Ambassador and Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar who is also Chairman at BCIS.

In addition to signing the formal Letter of donation, the inauguration of the Certificate, Diploma and Post-Gradaute Diploma Courses for 2004/2005, inauguration of the second intake of the effective oral English langauge course and the awarding of certificates for the first intake of effective oral English langauge course will also take place at the ceremony.
