Vice Admiral Daya Sandagiri who was appointed the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Joint Operation Headquarters by the President will take over his new office on Wednesday morning.

A Tri Forces Guard of Honour will be accorded to the new CDS at the Army Headquarters before he assumes duties. Commander of the Army, Commander of Air Force, Inspector General of Police and Senior Officers will take part on the occasion, a Defence Ministry media release stated.
