by Chamikara Weerasinghe Heavy rains have caused floods in several areas in the south disrupting transport in Kalutara and Galle. Floods have also damaged public property and agriculture crops. Sources at Galle and Kalutara District Secretariats said two villages under the Palindanuwara Pradeshiya Sabha have been partly submerged by the flood waters. The floods have also affected Udugama, Akuressa, and Hiniduma in Galle, sources said. Kalawana and Hedigalla areas in the Kalutara district have also been affected. The damage caused by the flood is yet to be determined. According to Kalutara and Galle District Secretariats, a Relief Committee has been appointed to help the flood victims. |
