Stop killings, recruitment of child soldiers At a meeting with a senior LTTE delegation visiting Geneva, Amnesty
International, Human Rights Watch and the International Commission of
Jurists called on the LTTE to end political killings and the recruitment
of child soldiers and demonstrate how they will respect international
humanitarian and human rights law in Sri Lanka, states a press release
from the ICJ, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. China grants Rs.500 m for development projects by Manjula Fernando China has provided a Rs.500 million grant to Sri Lanka to back
development projects in the country. Chinese Ambassador Sun Guoxiang with
Treasury Secretary Dr.P.B. Jayasundara signed the agreement, after the
visiting Chinese delegation headed by Chinese Communist Party's senior
member Wu Guanzheng, met Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse at Temple Trees
yesterday. Govt. committed to speed up nation building projects - Prime Minister Eheliyagoda special correspondent, Nimal Wijayatunga Prime Minister, Mahinda Rajapakse said the Government will do its best
to speed up the educational and other nation-building projects for the
well-being of the common people amidst financial difficulties caused
