Pirith ceremony marks 4th death anniversary of Mrs. Sirimavo Bandaranaike

A special pirith ceremony was held to mark the 4th death anniversary of the late Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike at the Sri Lanka Freedom Party headquarters at Darley Road, Colombo 10.

The all-night pirith ceremony was organised by the staff of the SLFP office. A large number of SLFP party members were present. Among the participants were Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, Senior Vice President of the SLFP, Southern Province Governor Kingsley T. Wickremaratne, Western Province Governor Alavi Moulana, Minister Susil Premajayantha, Members of Parliament and Provincial Council Ministers.

Leukaemia patient seeks help

Twenty-one-year old Ms. Natasha Perera of Mutwal is suffering from Leukaemia and is currently being treated for this disease at Apollo Speciality Hospital in India by Dr. Ramesh Nimmagadda.

She needs Rs. 2 Million for a bone marrow transplant. She appeals to the public and philanthropists to assist her cause by remitting their donations to A/C No. 8230010958, Commercial Bank, Mutwal branch.
