3M Commercial Graphics appoints authorised distributor

3M Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of the 3M Corporation, with global leadership positions in diversified technology segments to the tune of $18 billion turnover recently appointed the Stax company as its Authorised Distributor for 3M Commercial Graphics Division (CGD)'s total product range.

The agreement was signed by Kishore Rao Managing Director for 3M Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and Milinda Dharmasena Sole Proprietor of Stax. The distributor agreement allows both companies the mutual benefits of a partnership where Stax has access to 3M Lanka's large pool of segment-specific resources while 3M Lanka can offer its products to new markets through its distributor's locally sensitive network.

3M Lanka's agreement with Stax will allow the newly authorised distributor to become the one-stop-shop for all sign related raw materials requirements in Sri Lanka. In turn Stax can now offer its customers - businesses that sell sign converters and outdoor digital printers - an exclusive range of 3M products.

3M Lanka's CGD also offers Scotchprint Graphics which provide a total large format graphics solution with its Material Components System (MSC) warranty. This will allow Stax to meet many customers' objectives by manufacturing or certifying large-format graphic software, hardware, inks, toners, graphic films and flexible sign facings used to create large-format finished graphics of unparalleled consistency, reliability and durability where large-format graphics take the form of hoardings and billboards.

3M CGD is also a world leader in films that brighten the displays on electronic products, such as flat-panel computer monitors, cellular phones, personal digital assistants and liquid crystal display televisions. It also leads in touch screens and touch monitors; lenses used in projection televisions; reflective sheeting for transportation safety; and materials and systems for producing high-performance, attention-getting graphic images.

3M, one of the Fortune 500, is a diversified technology company with leading positions in consumer and office; display and graphics; electronics and telecommunications; healthcare; industrial; safety, security and protection services; transportation and other businesses.

Headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, the company has operations in more than 60 countries and serves customers in nearly 200 countries.

3M is one of the 30 stocks that make up the Dow Jones Industrial Average and also is a component of the Standard and Poor's 500 Index.
