by Nadira Gunatilleke Cultural Affairs and National Heritage Deputy Minister Samantha Vidyaratne handed over confirmation letters to around 50 employees attached to the Central Cultural Fund (CCF) who had been working under temporary or contract basis, a Ministry spokesman said. He said that those CCF employees have been working for about fifteen years at different projects scattered countrywide. Addressing the employees Deputy Minister Vidyaratne said the people criticise both politicians and the public servants. There is a truth in what they say about politicians but the opinion on public servants should be changed immediately. People believe that they cannot get anything from the government sector and that idea should be changed. The Ministry has already made arrangements to change this idea and the public servants should work hard to change this negative attitude. Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary A.P.A. Gunasekara, Acting Director General, CCF, Dr.W.H. Vijayapala, Additional Secretary Ms. Hema Jayaweera and several other Ministry officials were present at the occasion. |
