Floods wreak havoc in Ampara, Batticaloa and Killinochchi districts :

Five dead, 152,000 marooned in floods

At least five people died and over 152,000 families marooned in massive floods and earthslips in several districts while a police constable was reported missing after being dragged away by flood waters in Kalmunai.

US $ 75m World Bank credit for Lanka's housing reconstruction, development

Sri Lanka's efforts to restore dignity and security to people displaced by its 20-year civil conflict received a boost from a US$ 75 million credit approved on Tuesday by the World Bank for a housing reconstruction program.

Co-Chairs of Tokyo donor conference express concern over JVP actions
