Final Lectra Monthly medal Golf C'ship by S. M. Jiffrey Abdeen - Kandy Sports Correspondent Victoria Golf and Country Resort will hosts its final Lectra Monthly Medal Golf Championship for the year for ladies and gentlemen at the Victoria Golf Course at Rajawella on Saturday - December 18th commencing at 7 a.m. This will be the seventh round of the Lectra Monthly championship and the last one for the year 2004 before seeing the year off. A larger number of golfers are expected to turn up for this competition before going on holidays or enjoying the Season of Goodwill. The competition as usual will be played in three segments - the Men's Gross and Nett Championship and Ladies Nett Championship. The two Men's Championship has been dominated largely by two schoolboys - the Men's Gross Championship by 14 year old Wycherly International School student Binupa Wijesinghe and the Men's Division by Digana Ecole International School's Chamil Wickremasinghe. Good progress has also been made by Priath Fernando, Sidath and Sampath Hemachandra, Roshan Dias. The Ladies Nett championship has seen Niloc Jayatillake on top with Indira Tibblins and Manori Jayakoddy will try hard to oust her from the high pedestal. |
