Bollywood show grenade attack: one arrested

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) investigating the grenade attack at the Bollywood concert last Saturday, arrested a suspect on public information and produced him before Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohamed Irzadeen who remanded till December 21.

Filing a report before the Magistrate yesterday, Sub Inspector R. M. A. Rajapaksa of the CCD told court that the suspect Dinesh Madava Perera of Kelanimulla, Mulleriyawa was arrested along with his motor cycle bearing number 152-4288.

On a court order the motor cycle was detained to be produced as a production in the case. The suspect was taken into custody in connection with unlawful assembly, damaging public and private property along the Colombo Racecourse road.

Meanwhile, Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Sarojini Kusala Weerawardena yesterday directed three cellular phone companies, Dialog, Celltel and Mobitel, to supply information required by CCD officials regarding telephones used on that day of the incident in the Colombo Racecourse area.

Colombo DIG Sirisena Herath is directing investigations conducted by Director CCD Senior SP Sarath Lugoda assisted by ASPs J. R. Jayawardena and Palitha Fernando and a CCD officers.
