Trincomalee correspondent Four Indonesian men drifting in a boat for 40 days have been rescued by local fishermen about 90 miles north of Trincomalee. The worn out men were handed over to China Bay Police who gave them clothes and food and admitted to Kinniya district hospital. The four Indonesians M. Ajee, 38, Sandani Sha, 37, Navam Faleed, 42, and Mohomed Kaleel, 41, told police that they were proceeding to a nearby island in a mechanised boat when the boat developed engine trouble. They had been drifting in sea for about 40 days. The men were rescued and handed over to police on Wednesday. Police has notified the Indonesian Embassy. |
