JVP Relief Service activated

The national operation to uplift victims of Sunday's tidal wave launched by the Relief Service Brigade of the JVP has opened four relief centres in the Matara district said Matara District MP Jinadasa Kithulegoda.

These centres have made arrangements to distribute cooked meals, dry food rations clothing and tents among the victims. Donors can also hand over such items to these centres for distribution among tidal wave victims. The four relief centres and their telephone numbers are as follows:-

Universal Computer Education Centre, Rahula Road, Matara, Tel. 041-2220763, No. 7A, New Bangama Road, Akuressa, Tel. 041-2283062, Sandya Jayamuni, Kanda Pahala. Devinuwara, Tel. 041-2226787 and Cultural Centre, Wewrukannala, Dickwella.

A centre to collect information about missing persons has also been opened at No. 215/4, New Marine Drive, Weligama, Tel. 041-2252418.
