Second intense quake recorded HONG KONG, Thursday (AFP) A second intense earthquake was recorded by the Hong Kong observatory in the seas near North Sumatra, Indonesia, on Thursday morning, an official release said. The earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale and with its epicentre some 60 kilometres (nearly 40 miles) west of the provincial capital Banda Aceh, was recorded at 0102 GMT Thursday, the release said. This followed a 5.6-magnitude earthquake with its epicentre about 110 kilometres from Banda Aceh at 1459 GMT Wednesday. |
